WA-BC Chapter of AFS Committee Structure and Chairs
We are seeking members for the WA-BC Chapter committees for 2021-2022. Please review the list of committees and their duties below. We need individuals to serve as appointed chairs on the currently vacant committees and we need lots of help on all the committees. Please feel free to contact the chapter President or any of the committee chairs to volunteer or for more information on the duties. Also, if you have ideas for additional WA-BC Chapter committees not shown below, please contact the current ExCom regarding the possibility of creating a new committee.
Program Committee
The President-Elect and a member from the host state or province shall be appointed by the President as co-chairs. They and at least three members shall organize an annual program that will include technical sessions for contributed posters and papers and invited symposia or workshop, as well as video podcasting when available, on topics relating to the field of fisheries.
Nomination Committee
The Chair (Past President) and members shall recommend a slate of candidates for offices of the Chapter.
Archives
The Chapter Archivist is the lead for tracking and organizing all records and documents since Chapter inception.
Membership
Maintain or increase Chapter membership. Also recommend measure to attract new member and retain current members.
Resolutions
The Committee drafts resolutions, screens and edits resolutions submitted to it by officers, members, or units, and presents its slate of resolutions for vote.
Awards
Committee responsible for overseeing the Chapter awards and present the awards at the annual general meeting.
